Welcome to Ratanui

Thank you for choosing to stay with us as you explore beautiful Golden Bay.  We are here to help you relax and enjoy; please don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to make your time here more special.

This little book will introduce you to the services we provide and to the treasures of Golden Bay.

At Ratanui

Water:  Pohara does not have a town water supply.  We catch rain water for the entire property.  All water is triple-filtered and safe to drink.  Please conserve where appropriate.

(Please be aware the smoke detectors in your room are very sensitive and may be triggered by steam from the shower.  Keeping the bathroom door closed when showering is advised.)

Wireless Internet: Network: Ratanui Password: cocktails1

Ratanui has free wireless internet available throughout the property. Please let us know if you need assistance connecting to the wireless network.

Breakfast:  Available from 8am to 9am each morning.  Continental breakfast is included in your room rate, and a cooked full breakfast option is available most mornings for an additional charge.

Dining Room:  Set three-course menu for $70.  Reservations are essential by 12pm.  Enquiries and bookings at reception. Serving nightly in summer, Friday-Sunday in winter.

At Ratanui (continued)

Lounge:  The Cocktail Lounge is open from 5pm, with signature cocktails, premium New Zealand gin, tapas menu, and a full Nelson-centric wine and beer list.  If you’d like a drink earlier in the day, just let us know.

Laundry:  We are happy to do laundry for you.  Wash, dry, and fold can usually be returned same day if turned in by 10am.  Laundry bags available at front desk.  $20 per load.

Swimming Pool and Spa: The spa and small salt-water swimming pool is tucked away beyond Room10 and is not only a lovely place for a refreshing dip if you prefer not to swim in the sea, but a great suntrap in a relatively secluded setting.  Extra towels are available at reception, and we are happy to bring a refreshing drink as you relax and soak up the sun. Please do not bring any glass containers into the pool/spa area.

The spa is open anytime. Instructions for operation are posted on the wall next to the spa.  Please let us know if you need any assistance with removing/replacing the cover or anything else.

Massage:  In-room massage available, or at Aroha Health Spa just around the corner.  Enquire at reception for an appointment.

Make yourself comfortable throughout the property.   Feel free to take advantage of the comfortable outdoor seating in front of the lodge, outside the breakfast room, or by the pool; or inside the main lodge in the lounge.
